a, be, focus, for, formula, how, motivate, persist, success, successful, to
Today I'd like to give you a little motivation...
Let me ask you "Do you know a formula for success?"
Would you like to know THE secret of success, however you define that?
Well here it is - The Secrets to Success is:
FOCUS + ACTION + PERSISTENCE
Let's look at each of these in turn.
First, you need to focus on what you want. Really focus and that means
making a clear picture in your mind, hearing and feeling whatever it is
that you are aiming for. Experience in your imagination as if you have
what you want.
Second, time to take action. Just thinking about it doesn't make it
happen, whatever they tell you in "The Secret". You need to plan how you
will take steps to move closer to your goal. Success comes from making
it happen.
Third, persistence. Never give up trying. If you are not happy with how
you are progressing try a different route. There are always alternative
ways to achieve any goal. You always have other choices. Never give up.
Success is always preceded with what some see as failure and others see
as temporary setbacks. Don't let this stop you, keep moving forward.
That's it. You WILL be successful if you follow this formula.
Despite the challenges or obstacles that
you’re going to inevitably face in this lifetime, it’s up to us to
direct our focus and find the empowering meaning in whatever life gives
us. One of the best ways to do that is ask yourself empowering
questions, such as, “What is great about this?”, or “What can I learn from this?”, or “How can I use this to grow and give more?”, and more importantly, “How can I turn this around?”
If you ask empowering questions, your brain will come up with the answers.
Life doesn’t happen to me, it happens FOR me.
There are also certain beliefs that really guide me through the most challenging times. One of them is that “Everything happens for a reason and a purpose, and it serves me.”
I believe there is GOOD to be found in anything that life throws at
us, it’s up to us to find it. Every human experience can benefit us in
some way. We can learn from it, grow from it, and use it to give more
to others.
Also, understand that nothing in life is
permanent. No problem is permanent or so pervasive that we can’t
overcome it. With that said, one belief I always use is I say to
myself, “This too shall pass.” And it always
inevitably does. Whatever suffering or pain you’re currently going
through, it will pass with time. Understand that this moment doesn’t
define you. Just get back on the horse, keep taking action and move
your feet. Eventually, you will come out the other side victorious.
If you’re going through hell, KEEP GOING.
I hope this blog post can really serve you
in some way. While things can be challenging in the moment, you have to
keep your faith and see things better than it is. Understand,
believe, and know that things will work out and your life will turn out
the way you want it to as long as you keep your eyes on the horizon.
Staying motivated can seem like a daunting task sometimes and even the best of us have moments of depression and dejection. These ten tips should help you to stay inspired and motivated to achieve your goals.
Write an Agreement
Write a contract to yourself,
that you will commit to whatever it is you want everyday or every couple of days. For example, if you want to eat healthy, commit to doing it everyday and write a contract to yourself. Stick it somewhere where you'll see it everyday e.g mirror or
fridge
Buddy Support
Get friends to encourage you!
Find workout buddies or phone a friend for some support
Make Goals
Write down goals which you want to achieve. If you write it down you are more likely to achieve the goal. Also write down when the deadline is for the goal. For example a goal could be to 'lose 10KG in 2 months'.
Negative Support
Stay away from people who
discourage you! Don't let them drive you away from your fitness goals!
Always stay positive towards a healthy lifestyle.
Have a Cheat Day!
Have an Indulge once in a while.
Trust me, your body needs some reward. Have a treat once a week! Reward
yourself with low fat frozen yoghurt, low fat popcorn or dark chocolate
at the end of the week for having put in so much effort in completing
your workouts and eating healthy!
Role Models
Stick pictures of your
favourite health motivators where you can see them daily e.g an athlete
or someone who has been going through a healthy lifestyle and you look
up to them. They'll be your reminders!
Inspiration
Read and watch motivational books and shows. This could include a documentary about your favorite celebrity losing weight or reading a biography of someone famous.
Progression
Make a calendar and play the
'don't break the chain' game. For every day that you stick to your goals/abide to your contract, put a cross on your calendar.
Future
Write down a list of things
that you'll be able to do once you've reached your goals! For example,
buy new clothes or go on a road trip with your friends/family. This will encourage you to work towards your goals and not give up halfway!
Take Small Breaks
Whatever you are doing remember to take small breaks during your work. It is good to de-stress and just 'chill-out' .
Don't Stop There!
These of course are just some of the many ways you can help to stay motivated in your every-day circumstance.
Sometimes the days may be tough but if you start implementing these
and other motivational tips into your daily life you’ll never be worried
about losing focus ever again!
