Staying motivated can seem like a daunting task sometimes and even the best of us have moments of depression and dejection. These ten tips should help you to stay inspired and motivated to achieve your goals.
Write an Agreement
Write a contract to yourself,
that you will commit to whatever it is you want everyday or every couple of days. For example, if you want to eat healthy, commit to doing it everyday and write a contract to yourself. Stick it somewhere where you'll see it everyday e.g mirror or
fridge
Buddy Support
Get friends to encourage you!
Find workout buddies or phone a friend for some support
Make Goals
Write down goals which you want to achieve. If you write it down you are more likely to achieve the goal. Also write down when the deadline is for the goal. For example a goal could be to 'lose 10KG in 2 months'.
Negative Support
Stay away from people who
discourage you! Don't let them drive you away from your fitness goals!
Always stay positive towards a healthy lifestyle.
Have a Cheat Day!
Have an Indulge once in a while.
Trust me, your body needs some reward. Have a treat once a week! Reward
yourself with low fat frozen yoghurt, low fat popcorn or dark chocolate
at the end of the week for having put in so much effort in completing
your workouts and eating healthy!
Role Models
Stick pictures of your
favourite health motivators where you can see them daily e.g an athlete
or someone who has been going through a healthy lifestyle and you look
up to them. They'll be your reminders!
Inspiration
Read and watch motivational books and shows. This could include a documentary about your favorite celebrity losing weight or reading a biography of someone famous.
Progression
Make a calendar and play the
'don't break the chain' game. For every day that you stick to your goals/abide to your contract, put a cross on your calendar.
Future
Write down a list of things
that you'll be able to do once you've reached your goals! For example,
buy new clothes or go on a road trip with your friends/family. This will encourage you to work towards your goals and not give up halfway!
Take Small Breaks
Whatever you are doing remember to take small breaks during your work. It is good to de-stress and just 'chill-out' .
Don't Stop There!
These of course are just some of the many ways you can help to stay motivated in your every-day circumstance.Sometimes the days may be tough but if you start implementing these and other motivational tips into your daily life you’ll never be worried about losing focus ever again!
