If you would like to achieve success really quickly in any endeavor,
consider taking a powerful little short-cut known as modeling.
First think of someone you know or have seen who is already achieving
success in the same area you would like to improve in. This person will
serve as your model.
To start with you need to analyze exactly what it is that person is
actually doing to produce the results you would like to produce. Once
you have analyzed and understand what your model does, you can work at
doing the same things. By imitating their physiology you will send the
same signals to your brain as they send to theirs.
The modeling approach is sometimes referred to as ‘fake it till you
make it’ but there is nothing fake about it. You are simply using a
scientific approach to duplicate their thinking process. The closer you
can imitate their physiology the easier it will be to create the same
thought patterns.
Here are some specific things to notice about them:
* Use of Vocabulary and Tonality
* General Image and Attitude
* Body Language including Posture, gestures and Facial Expressions
Once you have identified how your model is making use of the above
characteristics, you simply role play. Act as if you actually were that
person or as if you were trying to convince someone else that you are.
This approach is something like creating a stage-persona. The
creation of that winning persona is much easier if you can identify and
imitate a real person.
You will be amazed at how easy it is to produce the results you
desire almost immediately with this technique. If you feel self
conscience because you think that others will recognize your charade,
don’t worry, nobody will know what you are doing. You will not be seen
as an impersonator; instead you will be attributed as actually having
the personality, energy and charisma of the person you are modeling.
By the way, in the picture the lady on the left is the real Marilyn,
but how sexy and desirable do you think the other two ladies feel?
Eventually, those new result producing behaviors will be programmed
into your own personality. You will have adopted the very same thought
process and be producing similar results. Then you will be the one
others want to model.
